Suffered severe water damage, resulting in boards in a poor state, but still bound - front hinged slightly started. All leaves water-stained with evidence of dry mildew. Sepia photo-engraved plates, measuring to the plate marks 8vo" x 9 3/4" , generally one plate per page, the second half is two per page (to plate marks 5 3/4" x 13 1/4") with tissue guards, the leaves are toned and numbered in ink upper right hand corner. A photo album by one of the preeminent photographers of the day - only one copy of this title has appeared at auction in the last 25 years. Portraits include Bend Or, Galopin, St. Simon, and other luminaries. An absolute treasure. |
