An excellent history on this organization which preceded the Verband and additional notes on Landgetut Marienwerder can be found in the book "Trakehner Horses Then & Now" by Fritz Schilke, translated by Helen Gibble (recently published Fifth edition available elsewhere on this website). A scarce and desirable collectors item which has survived WWII and pre-dates the "Flight".
