Four years in the making since volume I of this study of Belgian mare lines, the new volume II finds Belgian sporthorse breeding consistently producing international quality show jumpers from the 14 prominent mare lines in this work. While the original Belgian sporthorse breeding program had to rely on horses of foreign origin (Dutch, French, Hannoverian, etc.) careful selection (the BWP was the first warmblood studbook to require free jumping in stallion testings) assured that these lines are now rightfully designated Belgian.
